Monthly Curriculum Highlights

Our learning focus this month:
Religion – We are trying our best to live and act as Jesus did as we learn about Lent.  We will read and learn about Jesus’ life through the stories in the Bible.  We will celebrate St. Patrick and St. Joseph – two very important saints remembered in March.
Math – We will continue to practice adding and subtracting numbers through 10.  We will also practice counting, writing and ordering numbers 11-20.
Reading  - In Fundations, we continue to practice decoding and spelling cvc words.  We will be reading books about weather and focusing on the sequence of events in a story.  
Writing – We are writing in our journals more frequently.   We are trying to write our own ideas and doing our best at sounding out words and adding details to our writing.
Social Studies – March is Women’s History Month.  We will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and read lots of books and have lots of fun with leprechauns.
Science/Technology – March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.   This month we will study different types of weather.
