Week of March 27th
All About Me - Lily
Religion – In chapter 18, the children will learn that Jesus is their teacher and helper. I will share stories from the Bible that explain how Jesus taught people, shared kindness with others, and healed (spiritually and physically) those in need.
ELA – The children will identify the letter "Xx" by sight and sound, identify words beginning with, ending with and containing the sound of x, use sight words (green, blue, yellow, for) to compose sentences, practice reading skills ("Max" and "What Can You Do?"), sound out and write words, identify questions, and continue with independent journal writing.
Math – We will begin chapter 11, Measurement. During the week, the children will use the terms longer than, shorter than or about the same to describe length and height of objects. The children will also compare the length and height of classroom objects.
Thematic Unit/Art - The children will use a lower case x to make a person exercising, an upper case X for an x-ray, use watercolors to create a xylophone, and paint their hands to demonstrate how an x-ray would look.
