Religion: Why did God make us?

Science/Social Studies: Matter and Energy / Scholastic News

Math: We are working in chapter 3, learning subtraction strategies. We will subtract using pictures, number lines, and ten-frames.

ELA - Unit 2 Week 2:

• Phonics - We are learning short u. We will spell and read words with short u. We are learning contractions with 's.
• Reading - The comprehension focus is on characters, setting, and events. The genre we are focusing on is fantasy. We will be reading stories this week and discussing fantasy characteristics and main elements.
• High Frequence Words: could, live, on, then, three
• Writing/Grammar: We are continuously practicing writing sentences and making sure our sentences have the correct mechanics. We will practice these skills by writing stories of our own choice. In grammar, we are learning about singular and plural nouns.

Fundations: Unit 3 - We will continue reviewing our letters and letter sounds. We have been introduced to our digraphs wh, ch, sh, th, and ck. We will read and spell CVC words that include digraphs.
