Math: We will begin working in chapter 6. In this chapter, we will learn place value (tens and ones).

Fundations: We will begin working in unit 6. We are learning suffix s. We will continue to learn how to tap words to read and spell.

ELA: 
Phonics - We are learning long vowel a spelled with the vce pattern. We will spell and read words with long a.
Reading - The comprehension focus is on beginning, middle, and end. The genre we are focusing on is fantasy. We will be reading stories this week and discussing fantasy characteristics and the beginning, middle, and end of stories.
High Frequence Words: away, now, some, today, way, why
Writing and Grammar: We are focusing on the characteristics of a sentence (upper case, punctuation, spaces, naming part, telling part). We are learning verbs. We are writing complete sentences. We are adding details to our sentences.

Religion: Jesus had many followers.

Science/Social Studies: Living and Non-living / Scholastic News
