Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pleasure I welcome you to the St. Dorothy Preschool program. We are excited to share in this early learning experience for your child/children. Our program offers 3 and 4 year olds the ability to experience religious, social, and educational interaction with other children of their age. The opportunity to take part in a half or full day option is available for both age groups, either 3 or 5 days a week. Before and after school CARES is also available for those that are interested. Students registering for any age group program must be able to use the restrooms independently before starting in September and must be either 3 or 4 years of age by August 31st.

Our program will follow the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Teacher plans will be rich in integration of subject materials with their daily life experiences. Religion, Mathematics, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Motor skills, and Art will be experienced throughout each trimester.  At the Pre-school level learning does not happen in content areas, developmentally appropriate themes will be planned that contain the information and activities from combined modes of learning. All the content areas are integrated with each other and with themes taught in Religion.

Hands on learning will be evident and engaging in all academic areas. Stories will come alive and allow students to strengthen their listening, speaking, thinking and writing skills. The opportunity for music and physical education classes will be available for some depending on the length of day chosen and the scheduling availability.
