What's Happening in 1A?
 

Math: In chapter 4 we will look at how subtraction and addition are related. 

Fundations:  In unit 4 we will learn about bonus letters. We will practice reading words with bonus letters and sentences. We will learn new sight words. 

ELA:
Phonics: This week we are learning short u. We will practice reading words with this pattern in isolation and in sentences. 
High-Frequency Words: We will practice spelling, writing and reading our words in sentences. 
Reading: In unit 2 we will look at what makes a community. This week we will answer the essential question: What buildings do you know? Students will learn about realistic fiction stories. We will read a variety of texts. 

Writing and Grammar: Sentences using commas. Grammar nouns and plural nouns. 

Religion: We will start chapter 4. 

Science/Social Studies: Scholastic News, Thanksgiving
