We will start the month by watching the pesky groundhog to see if he will see his shadow. We will take a survey to determine who wants 6 more weeks of winter, or who wants an early spring. I certainly want an early spring, We need to get out and get some fresh air.
We will discuss dinosaurs and compare their sizes, as well as make fossils using our classroom dinosaurs. Valentine's day will bring up the discussion of friendship and acts of kindness. We will exchange valentine cards with our classmates, making sure to wish each friend a Happy Valentine's Day and also say thank you for receiving our cards. We will talk about our very first President, George Washington as well as our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. We will explore United States symbols, as well as make an american flag craft. February is also Dental Health Month, which brings on many discussions about healthy and non healthy foods. We will end the month talking about space, and even listening to a story read by an astronaut.
