Meet the Teacher
Saludos / greetings! I’m Señora Porth and I’m delighted to work with our students at St. Dorothy School. I’ve nurtured an interest in global language and culture since I first studied Spanish in seventh grade. My teachers over the years encouraged my efforts and ignited a life-long passion. Thank you to my formal instructors including: Sister Catherine Coleman, R.S.M., Sister Maria Sancta, I.H.M., Sister Regina Edward, I.H.M., Mr. Charles Shreiner, and Doctor Gustavo Alonso; and to my informal instructors especially: Jorge, Mayte, Cristina, Juana, Rosenda, Virgilio, Mungai, and so many more. I’m excited to share that passion with my students.
My husband Steve and I are long-time members of St. Dorothy Parish; all five of our adult children are Dots graduates. Our lives continue to be full of family time with them, along with two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, three grandsons and one grandmom. We enjoy reading, traveling, hoops, and music, but family and faith are the treasures of our lives.
