Meet the Teacher
Mrs. Dunbar
I am very excited to be part of the St. Dorothy Family. This year will begin my 18th year of teaching in the preschool setting. I began teaching at St. Matthew's in Springfield in 2005. I moved to Holy Child Academy in Drexel Hill for 4 years before joining the St. Dot's Community.
I grew up in the Wallingford area and graduated from Strath Haven High School. I earned my Bachelors of Science Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education from Neumann University in 2011. I had the privilege of staying home with my children prior to starting Neumann.
I currently live in Springfield, PA with my husband Pat, who I met in high school, and have been happily married for 31 years. I have two children, my son Brian, a graduate from Temple University who is currently attending NYU for his graduate degree in moving image archiving, and my daughter Caitlyn, a recent graduate from Millersville University with a degreee in Public Relations.
In my free time, I love to travel, cheer on my two favorite sports teams, the Phillies and Eagles, and spend time with family and friends.
Mrs. Griffin
Hello, my name is B.J. Griffin and I am thrilled to be a part of the St. Dorothy family as a PreK 4 classroom assistant with Mrs. Dunbar. I have attended catholic schools all throughout my educational journey: starting at St. Kevin’s, then O’Hara, achieving my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Ed./Special Ed. at St. Joseph’s University and finally my Masters degree at Cabrini College. I taught 2nd grade in Springfield School District before having my first child. I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom to raise my children. Being back in the classroom the last few years has been a wonderful feeling!
I live in Drexel Hill with my husband and our 3 children.
There are many activities, sports and family events that we, as a family, enjoy taking part in. We especially love cheering on the Eagles, Sixers and Phillies.
I am looking forward to the new school year and being with your children. They are at such an impressionable age and it is rewarding to see them learn and succeed in the simplest task/activity. We are going to have a great year!
