Meet Mrs. Jean Callahan
I was born and raised in Upper Darby Township. I am the fourth of five children in my family. I have two older brothers, an older sister and younger sister. I grew up in St. Laurence Parish where I attended St. Laurence Grade School. I attended Archbishop Prendergast High School. My years at Prendie were 4 of the best years of my life. I loved Prendie--the friends, the classes, the teachers! After high school, I attended Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa. I continue to further my education by taking professional development courses.
I have lived in Drexel Hill for the last 19 years with my wonderful husband John. We reside in St. Andrew Parish. We have 3 awesome children, 2 of whom will be attending Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast High School. Our oldest son, Joe just started an apprenticeship program with the Carpenters Union. Our daughter, Christy is entering Senior year and our son, Sean will be a Junior. All 3 are actively involved with school activities and events.
Some of my interests/hobbies include: Sports, such as football and baseball--Go Eagles! Go Phillies!, going to Knoebels, traveling to Walt Disney World(I love all things Disney!!), going to Myrtle Beach, collecting snowglobes(Disney ones, of course),riding roller coasters, reading and most importanly, just spending time with my husband and children.
This is my 10th year at St. Dorothy School. I taught third grade for the last 9 years which I absolutly loved! This will be my first year teaching 8th grade and I am looking forward to this new opportunity to grow as a teacher! The children I teach are an incredible group. They make coming to work each day a treat. I also work with a great group of people. Together, the parents, children, faculty and staff make St. Dorothy a great place to learn!
