Back to School Readiness

Things to work on before entering the Preschool 3’s program.  Thank you in advance for working on these skills.     

Hygiene:

• Children must be able to use the restroom independently without assistance.

• Wash hands with soap and water.

• Change their clothes without help if they have an accident.

Academics:

• Practice using a pencil, crayon, or marker correctly.

• Practice using scissors.

• Practice using a glue stick.

• Recognize some letters of the alphabet.

• Recognize some numbers up to 10.

• Recognize some colors.

• Recognize some basic shapes.

• Reading with your child for 15 to 20 minutes a day.

Self-Help Skills:

• Start learning how to put on a jacket or coat by themselves.

• Start learning how to unzip, unpack, and pack their backpack.

• Using their words to express their wants or needs.
