Back to School Preschool 4’s Readiness Skills

Things to work on before entering the Preschool 4’s program 

Hygiene:

• Children must be able to use the restroom independently without help
• Wash hands using soap and water
• Change their clothes without help if they have an accident  

Academics:

• Recognize first name in print
• Write first name
• Hold pencil/crayon/marker correctly
• Hold and cut with scissors
• Practice using glue correctly
• Recognize some letters of the alphabet
• Recognize some numbers
• Recognize most colors
• Recognize basic shapes  

Self Help Skills:

• Put on jacket/coat by themselves
• Unpack and open their own lunch box
• Unzip and unpack their own school bag
