Please allow me to introduce myself to you and share a bit of information about my background.
First, I live in King of Prussia, Upper Merion Township, with my husband, Bob, and two children. We have been married for twenty-seven years! In addition, I am blessed with two lovely and extremely spirited children. Ryan (23) is attending Hofstra University majoring in High Education. He is also a graduate assistant working with the Men's Basketball Team. Megan is (19) is a Sophomore attending La Salle University. She is majoring in Public Relations and Communications. Megan is also active in theater. I am sitting here wondering where the years went! It is true about them growing up much too fast!
I love animals and we have a two-year old Cocker Spaniel. She is black and white and named after a favorite cookie! Yes, Oreo! In my free time I enjoy crocheting, gardening, aqua aerobics, eagle watching, biking on the trails and reading.
I have attended both Neumann College and Eastern University for my undergraduate and graduate level courses. I continue to further my education by taking professional development courses through seminars, and Professional Development Courses. I am currently taking a course and completing my practicum to become a certified Willson Tutor. I do use components of the Wilson Language Program in my classroom to help firm the children's phonics foundation. I am excited about this venture as it l helps me to better meet the needs of learners in my class.
I am excited to say that I was selected to participate in the Philadelphia Zoo Teacher Advisory Council/Committee several years ago. A group of teachers meet at various times throughout the school year at the zoo, analyzing programs, providing input and working with peers throughout the Delaware Valley, to promote educational programs offered by the Philadelphia Zoo. This is my fourth year of participation on this council and I love the new experiences and people it has brought into my life as an educator.
As we enter the school year, 2016-2017, I will be marking my 12th year of teaching at Saint Dorothy's School. I am very excited to be teaching second grade! Our faith is so important and I get the honor and privledge of teaching your children about the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. I love the school, students, faculty and wonderful families that I have met. I truly love teaching and sharing my enthusiasm with your children on a daily basis!
