Welcome to Second Grade

Tuesday, September 3rd - School Starts, 1/2 Day 

Friday, September 6th - First Friday Mass, 9am

Monday, September 9th - CARES begins

Wednesday, September 11th - Back to School Night, 7pm

LUNCH REMINDERS: Please pack your child a napkin or paper towel to put under his or her lunch to help with crumbs, as well as something to wipe their hands and faces.  Please make sure that they also have any spoons or forks needed.  Children should also be bringing a reusable water bottle for both snack and lunch time.  Thank you. 
 

STUDENT DISMISSAL: Most students in Second Grade know how they will be going home. If their normal dismissal changes, you are welcome to send me an email or write a note, so that I may remind them.  If your child normally walks home and there is inclement weather, please make sure to communicate to your child if their dismissal will change.    
 

Lunch: 11:40-12:00
Recess: 12:00-12:20

If your child is absent, please call the school before 8:30 a.m. Leave a message that includes your child’s name, grade, homeroom number, and reason for absence and check the Attendance policy for further information.

• In order for your child to attend CARES, all of the necessary paperwork must be completed and returned to my attention prior to attending on September 11th. All of the forms are available on the CARES section of the school website https://saintdorothy.org/cares-forms

• Morning CARES begins at 7am in the main office of the school. Please walk your child to the door and buzz the door and a staff member will let you in.
• After school CARES is held in the Annex from dismissal until 6:00.
• Please have a photo ID with you when you pick up your child.
