Please take some time to review math facts with your child this week and use the websites listed below to help with fact fluency.
We will begin our Pirate Math Program in class this week! First grade curriculum requires that all first graders demonstrate mastery of addition and subtraction facts within sums to twenty. This memorization must be done through consistent and regular practice at home.

Skills this week:
ELA: Our new story is Henry and Mudge. We will blend and read words with suffixes -ly and -ful. We will identify the cause and effect in a text and read and identify adjectives that compare. We will segment and blend vowel diagraphs spelled oo.
Math: We will continue chapter 10 on Representing Data. This week we will read and interpret a tally charts and bar graphs. We will create tally charts and bar graphs using information from our classmates.
Religion: We will complete Chapter 17, The Church Welcomes New Members.. In this chapter the children learn about the sacrament of Baptism. We will take our test on Thursday.
Our Homeroom Parent Representitive for the 2016-2017 school year is Mrs. Gust and the Homeroom Assistants are Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Mowrer, and Mrs. O'Gara.
